31 December 2004 - The Exeter trial is next weekend, starting at various places on Friday 7th January and finishing in Torquay during the afternoon of Saturday 8th January. MCC Webmaster Andrew Brown has produced an excellent Spectator Guide with recommendations on when and where to watch and there's also an entry list.

12 July 2004 - Check out Andrew Brown's report of the MCC AGM. It was an interesting evening during which I finally understood how the MCC works and on balance I am comforted by that. It was nice to see the major award winners receive their trophies and to put a few more faces to names. For me the most memorable part of the evening was President John Haye's tribute to Mary Margett's. It wasn't just what John said it was the way he said it. A truly moving experience.

It's reported over on the MCC's News of the Week that Marsh are quitting the event insurance scheme. Hopefully the MSA and its clubs will find a replacement.

There has been some disquiet in the ranks for some time about some aspects of MCC policy. These have been mentioned to me many times over the last six months, but I have never been prepared to publish them un-attributed. Now one of the giants of our sport, Dennis Greenslade, has written an open letter to the committee which can be found by clicking here.
